Order: Embari
Gender: Female
Weapon:
Primarily trained with polearms, Aienulan has a large staff that she always carries. Standing at about 7' in total, it is made up of two parts. The grip is a black rod about an inch in diameter, which is surprisingly light despite its appearance- the material is unknown. At about a foot from the end, pure gold tendrils appear to snake out from the black pole and wrap themselves around a suspended, ever-shifting jewelstone. They don't actually touch the jewelstone, which just hovers inside the web the tendrils create. This 'jewelstone' isn't solid nor liquid nor gas. It's a viscous, slow-moving and color-changing substance that reacts to the mood of its environment. All the colors it changes to are dark (i.e., crimson, navy, pine, violet) except for white, which it becomes when there is a high amount of magic being used in the area.Familiar:
The staff is summoned and dismissed by a long series of joined circlet bands that cover most of her left arm, which Aie constantly adorns.
Aie also sometimes carries a short-bow and five dozen steel-tipped arrows. It has a range of 200 feet, despite its size. Aienulan has an amazing target shot- anything within 75 feet is a definite hit, and up to 150 feet she hits within two feet of where she was aiming.
In dire situations, Ríaque's blood can be put on the tip of the arrows to create a poisonous after effect.
She is rarely seen with three 6-inch long blades, which she almost never uses. They are silver bladed with a gold line down each side in the middle of the blade, and a simple oval pattern for the handle.
Ríaque, a golden-feathered lioness gryphon with dark-tipped wings. Both her fur and feathers are light gold, while the area around her throat (ie; the mane area) is a touch darker, as is the tips of her wings, tail, and legs. She is modified, meaning that her forelegs have claws like a lion rather than the talons of an eagle. She stands a good seven foot at the shoulder, and has the build to be able to carry Aie during flight.Magic Domain: Healing
The gryphon is incredibly protective, and is a known symbol of speed, majesty, pride, and strength, because it is a hybrid of the king animal of the land (the lion) and the queen animal of the sky (the eagle). Ríaque walks with pure defiance and will do anything for her mistress, which would include risking her own life.
The blood of Ríaque is extremely corrosive and can bite through any metal or blade- to the extent of any material Aie has ever come across. Blue-black in color, when mixed with a variety of herbs from Aie's garden, it becomes a painless, quick poison.
She has emerald eyes that are always calculating, and speaks through her mind, without moving her beak.
Ríaque wears a harness and saddle into battle, made of black metal, gold, and leather. There are saddlepacks on either side, so thin that they're barely recognized. Within these packs Aie can store her blades, as well as any medical or healing supplies.
Magic Subdomain:
Tah'kéra-Maehys Aienulan is the Embari Domain Master for the Healing arts.Appearance:
She is able to heal all sicknesses, if given appropriate time, although mass amounts of this work tires her. Her magics are regained from rest, and from difficult restoration potions made from herbs in her garden.
Alongside illnesses, she can work around wounds, internal injuries, headaches, stomach aches, and aggressive mental states such as trauma/rage/fear/anxiety, and the like.
Plants from her garden are good for a variety of uses. They can assist to sleep, relieve pain, numb certain parts of the body, create awareness, and the like. She sells/trades the less potent ones for small fees (usually errand-runs or chores, rarely money) although she is willing to do anything free for a friend in need.
Her age is 21.Clothing:
Aienulan has medium-tanned skin, due to her outside work harvesting plants used for their medicinal properties. She is 5'5", which is not tall, and her hair is so deep of a crimson in shade that it almost appears black. When under sunlight, her hair shine shows her true color, a more vibrant red.
The lady's eyes are amber-yellow, sort of like a lightened caramel brown with streaks of gold. At times her eyes appear to have a green tint that overacts on the yellow, a sign that she's in great worry, whatever the problem may be.
Aie has a crisscrossing set of scars on the under left side of her chin, very small, where she was hit with an arrow when she was a child. She miraculously survived, and started healing arts in this cause. Her left ankle to just below her knee has a spiraling pattern of a serpent; she doesn't tell how she got it, and it doesn't match the rest of her abilities, seeing as the serpent is a hated enemy of the gryphon.
Always seen in some kind of black and gold silken outfit, Aie loves designing her own clothes as they rarely stay undestroyed for long. They often get messed or dirty by the blood of her patients, dirt from her gardens, or ripped when she decided the material should be used as a makeshift binding or cast. She loves adornment with beads and chain, both usually being gold. Her wardrobe typically changes between four different colors: black, gold, brown, and emerald green.History:
She cherishes jewelery, and has a black-and-gold pendant where she keeps all her knowledge about medicines, recipes, and her memories. It is unbreakable and never comes undone form her neck. Also black-and-gold is the circlet on her left arm that is used to summon her staff.
They day she arrived at the House of the Embari was the day everyone knew she would go extremely far as a healer. With a younger (and much smaller) version of Ríaque in tow, the eight-year-old girl performed her healing magics on a poisoned lion cub, a dying raven, and a snake's broken spine all within four hours. She was a natural, they all said, and was put under the highest healer of her time for training. She said nothing of where she was born or her parents, and will avoid the subject even today at all costs.Attitude:
As she grew, she was told she might be able to take over for the current master of the Healing when he fell once and for all. This gave her a goal to aim for; a goal she never gave up on. As Ríaque grew into a strong gryphon, Aienulan grew into a determined girl, and eventually lady, who had a thriving passion for the healing arts of the Embari- and succeeded in gaining the position of the Domain Master.
Now, at the soft age of 21, she's knowledgeable in a variety of plants and herbs, and the highest healer in the Alliance. There's many years of history and mystery left for her to make and discover, so although this is as far as she currently has lived, what lies ahead will truly determine who she is and will be.
Aienulan has one feature about her that many people do not understand. She never seems to portray any type of emotion other than focus. Her lack of open on the outside is broken in the inside, where she regrets and feels guilty for every life she couldn't save, and every mistake she's ever made. She holds it to herself that she has failed many times over, and she has very little self-confidence, but like all her other emotions this is never shown.Other:
On the outside, she is merely known to be strong-willed, persuasive, understanding, and prideful, but she is uncomfortable listening to the problems of others, as well as talking about herself and her feelings.
She can be seen as subtly obsessive, however, with singing, the beauty of eyes, and voices, as well as with a certain man who doesn't quite know it yet. She is also slightly paranoid about keeping Ríaque's fur and feathers shiny and gleaming.
All of this isn't to say she's unfeeling, cold, or passive. She just prefers to keep to herself. Perhaps one day this will change?
Aienulan has a sickness that affects her breathing, and often passes out on sweltering days. If she is startled very suddenly, this could almost turn out to be fatal.Sample Post:
She loves to sing, and to listen to the voices of other people. She loves studying other peoples' eyes, and relating the colors of them to gemstones.
(I'll add stuff as it comes to mind. xD)
The light of the moon came down across the window of Aie's room, where the female sat in quiet. One hand in her lap, and the other across the neck of her resting gryphon, a soft song drifted from her lips and into the cold night air. A sweet melody as it was, it gave the still and somber area around her an eerie feeling, as if the darkness of the sky held secrets unknown to both the people and forgotten by time.Themesong: --
Her cedar-gold eyes blinked, as she turned her head and looked into the dark corner of her room. There would always be areas in the world without any light, or glimmer of hope. She had hope, and it was consistent, but her lack of self belief made this virtuous idea almost worthless. Toying with her hands, she glanced again out into the night scene. The old stone buildings had a surreal look cast upon them by the moon's wavering light, as if each and every white block of it had its own separate glow. It was an artist's dream, if only one would bother staying up so late in the eve to witness it.
Without warning, Aienulan's chest tightened considerably. She clutched at her throat, gasping in as much oxygen as she could manage with her muscles contorting around her lungs, preventing her from taking a deep breath of the life-giving air. Ríaque raised her head, nudging her mistress with her beak to get her to the ground. It would hurt less when Aie eventually collapsed.
As the blood-haired healer made her way to the floor, encircled by her familiar's tail and wing, she felt her vision start to fade. Still gasping for any bit of air she could manage, she trembled violently until she was tucked in beside the large gryphon.
Then, as the moon drifted behind a cloud, Tah'kéra-Maehys Aienulan fell into a deep and unawakened unconsciousness.
