The Altioris is easily the largest of the Guild's Sects, boasting a recruitment of approximately 500 000 of the Guild's 700 000 adherents, compared to 1000 Serendith, 4000 Darren'Kal, 115 000 Verdisgald and 80 000 other working men, commonly farmers, sailors, blacksmiths, merchants, traders, bards, and the like. The Altioris also provide the Citadel guard, watching over important Guild officials.
The Altioris was formed early in the Guild's history, an honour to Luthanen, Selinor's close friend and a trusted warrior of his father. Following this example, the Altioris became the major fighting force of the new Guild, training knights and fighters to use swords, axes, spears, maces, hand to hand combat and a variety of other weapons. While the Serendith and Darren'Kal were able to remain secure within their respective structures during the Nomad attacks of Selinor's absence when the Guild was overrun, the Altioris were forced out, and the order was largely slaughtered. Under the visionary leadership of the Black Knight and his resistance group, the Altioris Remnants continued fighting hit and run battles until Selinor's return allowed them to retake their land and ensured that the Citadel was back, permanently. Selinor unbound the structure from his own power, so that if he was ever forced to use such high level magic as it disrupted the normal flow within him, it would not wrench the Citadel from reality again.
The Sect is one of the most strict, with clearly set rules, definitive codes of dress, both in armour and weapon make, and even in casual dress during peacetime. It has a complex hierarchy of rank, which provides a goal to strive for, in much the same way as the floors of the Seren Tower
The Altioris wear various sets of armour, depending on overall rank within the sect, and even when relaxing are supposed to wear chain mail on the torso underneath their other clothes, and their customary deep blue uniform, and their emblem is a white sword set on a deep blue background.
Altioris are fierce combatants, being trained in more weapon and unarmed combat disciplines than most people are aware exist, and learning from an early age to ride any type of mount they may encounter.
The Altioris are the most consistently seen in public of the Sects and also arguably the most rewarded for battlefield heroics. Many festivals and celebrations of the Guild are left to their able hands.
Their resident building on the grounds of the Citadel of Starlight is known as the Altion Sanctum. Despite being only ten stories high, the Sanctum manages to house a large part, if not all of its 500 000 members, along with their steeds and equipment, dining areas and large areas for training in combat, although they also frequently venture out into the wilderness in squads of 10 as practice. The building is set up as a large rectangular border, encircling the open training grounds in the middle. It is made mostly of simple grey stone, though it does have many complex carvings decorating it.
Weapon
Altioris weapon choice is unrestricted, and they are strong enough to wield larger and two handed weapons, as well as a single weapon with offhand shield combination, according to their preference.
Appearance
The Altioris undergo intense training, and most will be fairly physically fit.
Clothing
Altioris characters are required to wear armour of some type, though the armour of the Sect has not yet been standardized, recruits are issued chain mail for their use.
Magic
Altioris members may not wield the powers of magic.
