Order: Von Guard
Gender: Male
Weapon:
Jason carried his spear and tower shield throughout his entire training sessions. They were rigorous and strenuous, but he showed promise. He kept at it, and was finally appointed to top of his class, and then later on, an Elite. Though his title has changed, his favoured weapons have not. From the tip to end of his spear, Jason knows it by heart. Coupled with the Von Guard Tower shield, they are a set matched by no other. Both weapon and shield bare the symbol of the Von Guard.Familiar:
However, Jason also carries with him a third weapon. His secret weapon, that only he knows how to create. Though it seems like magic, it is actually only science. Always on his person he carries jars of strange liquid, known only as "Greek fire". This is his third weapon, and much more potent the his deadly set.
Jason's familiar is a glorious male red dragon named Vakati'duulo, which in draconic scripture means "beginning free". Vakati'duulo is about 20ft long in total, his neck being 6ft, his body and tail 7ft each in length. This makes his standing height about 6 ft with a wingspan of 16ft. He weighs about 1,000lbs. Though Vakati'duulo is a red dragon, known in the world for their short tempers and fits of anger and competitiveness, he does not share the same characteristics to the same degree in these regards as other dragons of the same species. Though he is rough in his words and fierce in battle, serving as a mount and a familiar, he also has a kinder more domestic side to him. Some see it as a lacking of freedom for a dragon to be bound to a human, but Vakati'duulo finds it entertaining and knowledgeable, spending hours on end in the study with his Master, hearing the teachings of the Council and other leaders. However, the fierce role of battle familiar and training sessions are his favourite past time.Magic Domain: None
As it is common for red dragons, Vakati'duulo can breath fire, and flames often dance in his nostrils when he gets angry or annoyed.
Jason, when riding Vakati'duulo, does not use a saddle. He has been training so long with him and so often that he does not need it anymore.
Magic Subdomain:
The Von Guards are not trained in the ways of magic, and therefore do not have the knack for following and channeling the magic flows.Appearance:
Even though Jason is a prominent leader in the Von Guard Order, his body type is not as you would expect. He is more on the small side, weighing only about 180-190 lbs and an unmeasured height between 5'6-5'10.His skin is tanned with hours in the hot sun, and his eyes are a brilliant hazel colour that seem to darken when he is in a mood. His hair is a beautiful blonde colour, dirtied by the brown that was mixed in at birth. (in other words, dirty blonde) On the left side of his neck there is a scar running directly upwards about 4 cms long, and the tattoo of a wolf paw can be located on his right shoulder. Though he is small in size relative to some of the other Von Guards, his muscle mass is superior, giving him the 6-pack and bulging arm and leg muscles a expert fighter would be expected to have.Clothing:
When in his battle armor, he wears the required half-plate armor with a unique helmet with wings to mark his rank. The tough but flexible material of his armor covers his chest and reaches up to his shoulders, where it jets under his arms to attach to the front piece. His back is then covered with thick hide armor, and is also where his shield is straped when he isn't using it. His legs and arms are protected by metal of the same material that bends at the knees/elbows. Steel-toed boots cover his feet, and gauntlets hide his hands to protect and ensure his weapon stays in hand.History:
In his everyday clothes, Jason wears many different things, some more formal, some not.
Example of one formal set:
Except in dark red with black buttons.
Except with one row of buttons instead of two.
And long black pants that are tighter around the waist, but looser at the bottom of the leg. They can cover the steel toed boots that he always wears while on duty.
Twenty years ago, a very young boy appeared at the gates of the Alliance grounds. The guards described him as a beggar boy, dirty, pale and shoe-less. A tiny sack slung over his shoulder and an egg cradled in his hands, he begged the guards to let him in.Attitude:
"I heard all were welcome here..." the boy said, disappointed when the guards denied him entry. The guards shook their heads, but the boy was determined, and kept asking and asking profusely. Finally, highly agrivated, the guards brandished their spears at him, demanding he leave the premisice. But instead, the boy sat in the dirt and refused to move.
Frustrated and out of ideas, a messenger was sent for the closest High Councilor.
The boy watched as Councilor Grey walked down the pathway.
"Well you're certainly determined to push our guards aren't you." The boy stood up, giving a bow, very similar to that of a Von Guard.
"How'd you learn to do that?" Grey had asked. But the boy just shook his head, refusing to say anything about himself till he was inside.
"Well, I guess we better bring you in then." Grey motioned for him to follow.
That boy's name was Jason, a young six year old boy with no home left. His town has been destroyed and his family taken from him by the barbarians, and he had wandered the streets for months, begging for food and lodge from kind people. After quiet a few months, he had managed to piece together the whispers of a place where men and women were fighting back. "Warriors"..."Constructs"..."Freedom fighters"..."Alliance of the Crowns". Jason had finally found them. And after a little cleanup, he was to start his journey to becoming one of them.
He was instructed in the general schooling like all the other students until age 10, when his attitude and behaviour turned slightly violent, and he was nearly kicked out of class. Instead, he was placed under the careful eye of Councilor DonVak, and later Councilor Grey himself when he began to excel. Though his skills in litterature and history were good, Grey found that young Jason showed amazing leadership and combat skills. At the young age of 13, he was recommended by Grey to the Academy of Combat Defense and Leadership, and then was accepted into the Von Guard program. He trained diligently proving to be an extraordinary soldier.
His familiar, Vakati'Duulo, had also proved to be above the expectations placed on them, from the moment they entered the Academy.
At age 20, Jason and Vakati'Duulo were accepted into the Elite Corps training group, and 5 years later they were given the status of "Elite", leading whole armies into war, with the same courage and determination he had displayed 20 years earlier at those rusty iron gates.
Where Jason's home was and who his parents were remain today a mystery. Too many villages have been destroyed to know for sure which was his, and all he remembers to this day about his family is the name "Maria" and "Von Guard".
Jason is generally a friendly character. He has all the normal desires and needs as any male, but is also passionate about more then physical activities. He enjoys the thrill of a fight, but also the feelings that accompany simply sitting and enjoying a summer breeze. Untypical to a Von Guard, who is trained to live and breath fighting, Jason has more to his life than that. And this reflects in his attitude. He can be stern to his troops but never angry without the necessity of it. Outside of the army, he is quiet and slightly hot tempered, but overall a gentle man.Other:

Themesong:
Jason sat on the hill outside the Grounds, watching the villagers of a nearby village do their work. He missed the freedom of being out among them. He missed his siblings and parents, and his home. He sighed, longing for the past.
"Master, you seem annoyed, what troubles you?" Jason looked up at his familiar, Vakati'duulo. He looked over his shining red scales, from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail.
"Nothing my friend, nothing, I miss the days when the world was free." Vakati'duulo looked over to the horizon, staring into the fading sun. He watched with his Master as the two moons began to rise, sending the frogs and crickets into a frenzy.
"But Master, you were not alive in the days of freedom, how would you long for them?" Vakati'duulo gave him an inquiring stare.
"My friend, the books of that time are glorious, deep, and detailed. They were a people of expansion, peace, justice, and freedom! I know how they felt through the words of their scribes, poetic and full of meaning." Vakati'duulo nodded in understanding.
"We too shall have a time like that soon." Jason smiled at his old friends' words. He had been thinking that for a long time, hoping, dreaming it would come about, that he and Vakati'duulo, and the Councilor and everyone would have their chance at freedom as every being deserved.
"Yes, we will."
