Anastianna strode into the training field, looking down the long range to the dummies on the other side. Her breast plate shone in the fading light of the coming evening, and her bare feet left footprints in the sand beneath her feet. Nakitoro padded beside her, and watched as her brilliant hazel eyes turned a dark brown. A smile crept onto her face and she lifted her hands in front of her. Within an instant, her feet flew, the air rushing past her as she sped towards the dummy on the other side of the range.
With a glint in his eye, Nakitoro ran after his Master, towards the dummy beside hers.
With a fiery of strength and power, they mimicked each other, jumping towards the dummies.
Anastianna's golden dagger flew from her sleeve, glimmering in the chilling air. It pierced the arm of the dummy, cutting it clean off. Anastianna landed on all fours facing the dummy, her bare hands and feet sliding in the light sand. She looked over beside her. Nakitoro was facing his dummy as well, claws extended, returning the glance. His dummy was split at the side, a deep claw mark gouged into it. Anastianna gave another sly smile.
She sprang up in a flash, and threw her hands into the air with a violent motion. In a split second, vines as thick as tree branches sprang from the ground, wrapping themselves around the dummy, and crushed it.
Meanwhile, Nakitoro leapt onto his dummy, claws extended and teeth sharp. He landed on its back, all four rows of claw digging into the dummy's tough back. The wood beneath it creeked, snapping under the extra weight. The dummy fell forward onto the ground, dust swirling into the air.
Anastianna watched as her beautiful familiar made the final blow, a quick slash to the neck with devastating accuracy.
Nakitoro climbed off the dummy's back, shaking the dust out of his black furr.
Anastianna walked over to her familiar, stroked his soft coat.
"That was a good session, were getting good at this Naki," she said, smiling, her eyes slowly returning to their normal hazel colour.
"Yes, though my timing was slightly off on the first attack, you were a few seconds ahead of me," Nakitoro commented, starting to walk towards the door. Anastianna followed her familiar.
"Don't worry my friend, we'll both work on it more," she replied reassuringly, "after all, the march is coming soon, we need to be ready to lead the Embari to battle." She sighed at the thought of more fighting.
"Never fear Master, the sooner we fight this battle, the sooner the barbarians will be defeated, and the Alliance will be free once again."
She smiled down at her familiar.
"Yes, I await the day."
