Ellen walked into the field after her meeting, even being a part of this alliance, she felt alone in this world. She could feel the presence of death here, she could almost see the battle that had taken place, or at least the warriors who died here. "Why Bruce? Why must we kill? We face so many dangers as it is, with out having to worry about other people." Ellen sat down in the grass and arched her head up to look at the sky. "Death surrounds us, I guess its unavoidable." Bruce simply paced around her, sniffing around, scouting for danger before stopping beside his master, his head constantly shifting direction with bird like motions. "Maybe I shouldn't be asking philosophy questions when I don't understand my own best friend." she sighed. "You lil' nut."

Anastianna walked onto the Plains of Sacrifice, and looked about. She used to come here often to remind herself what they fought for, and what they fought to avoid. Seemed ironic really, fighting others to avoid fighting more later. "Why do we kill people Naki, is it really the only thing we can do to solve this problem?" She sat down in the grass and put out her hand. Nakitoro rubbed up against her arm, nudging her hand with his head softly. She pet him a bit, and he purred for her. "I don't know Master, fighting has been in our blood for so long, I suppose it is hard to filter it out when its dug so deep." Anastianna thought about this as Nakitoro lay beside her, and she had to agree. They'd been fighting for 50 years now, been enslaved and bombarded with stories of destruction and death. It only seemed natural for people to want to fight back. Suddenly, Anastianna noticed someone below where she was. "Look Naki, it's a girl, and a strange creature." Nakitoro got up on his feet quickly, and looked down where she pointed. "She bears the mark and tag of the Embari." Nakitoro said, relaxing. "Should we go join her?" Nakitoro nodded, and they got up to join the girl. "Hello there young one, what brings you to the Plains of Sacrifice?" Nakitoro asked as they closer.

Bruce turned to wards the approaching stranger, spikes erect as he growled protectively. Ellen then stood and stepped in front of the chupacabra "Hey there! Don't worry about him, chupacabras, they seem to be aggressive little buggers." she said as her friend walked to her side, bearing his teeth, spikes still showing his aggression as he stood at Ellen's side. "My name's Ellen McTavish, I wasn't expecting anyone out here, just on a stroll to think." She realized what she said and panicked slightly, "not that your company isn't welcome! It's a pleasure to have someone to talk to...as you can imagine El Brucey here isn't much for conversation."

Anastianna watched as the spikes on the creatures back raised. 'Fascinating.." she thought, but continued to stand in front of the girl. "Hello Ellen, my name is Anastianna. This is Nakitoro, my Familiar." Nakitoro bowed his head slightly in respect, and spoke: "And this young one is Bruce you say?" Nakitoro spoke in a sort of purr-ish growl, and he could seem kind of intimidating at times. He hoped that Bruce didn't feel threatened by them, after all, their on the same team. "Don't worry Bruce, we're all friends here, we're Embari as well," Nakitoro continued. "That's right, though I'm sure you already knew that from reading my tag." Anastianna smiled.

Ellen nodded, "Yes, Bruce just doesn't seem to trust anyone" she looked down at him as he stepped to her side, his his chest visibly expanding and contracting quickly as he drew breath in and out. He cocked his head slightly left as he examined the new comers "That's the chupacabra for you, very anti social creatures." Bruce then lowered his spikes, as he calmed slightly. "So what brings you out here Anastianna?" Ellen said warmly.

At that question Anastianna turned to look out over the fields. "Well, I'm not really sure to be honest. I guess I needed a little bit of a reality check. And a reminder of what we're doing all this training and fighting for." She turned to look back at Ellen and Bruce. "I don't know if you know the history of this field or not, but I'll tell you anyways. More than a century ago now, a great battle happened here. Many men and Familiars died here, fighting off the invaders that came to threaten their world. Their blood spilled among the blades of grass, and for many years the grass didn't grow. It changed from a grassland to a desert, void of life and filled with sadness and wandering souls. However, eventually the grass regrew, the animals returned, and the soil was moist and fertile again. With the help of nature and the Embari Necromancers, the wandering spirits were calmed and allowed to go to the afterlife in peace." She smiled at this thought, of all the progress they had made, and turned to look out over the field again. "However, there was one thing that, for some reason, not nature or our powers could cure." She reached down, and, with the end of her blade, made a hole in the grass. She reached in, dug out a little topsoil, and eventually produced something in her hand. "If you go down far enough, the dirt is stained still." She opened her hand and the dirt in her hand was brown and red, not a bright colour red, but still noticeable. Anastianna always found it a little creepy when she saw it. "And the whole field is like this, that's why it's called the Plains of Sacrifice. And I come out here sometimes to remind myself that we don't want anymore major battles like this one. We don't need death like that. It's horrible to think about." She frowned, and dropped the dirt to the grass again.

Ellen stood, listening to the sad story of this place. She was silent afterwords, as she bent her knees, lowering herself to stab into the ground with her knife, to get a look at the stained earth herself. "Tragic." It was all she could think to say at first. So she stood and looked out over the field. "Can we really avoid another major war?" Bruce started chirping, odd rawr like yelps. "Sounds like somebodies hungry, do you know where we could find any goats? or really any small mammals that he could, snack on...Ever seen one of these things 'eat', pretty interesting, and slightly disturbing sight." As Ellen spoke, the Chupacabra walked around, sniffing the ground and air, its head bobbing between the two.

Anastianna laughed. "No, I have never seen one of them eat." She smiled, brushing away the specks of dirt on her hand. "Come on, if we head back to the Grounds, I'm sure we could cook something up." At this she turned, beckoning for Nakitoro to follow. "If your interested, on the way, you could tell me a little bit about yourself maybe? Like how'd you end up here and the like?" Anastianna always liked to learn as much as she could about her fellow Embari, even if she wasn't this one's Master.
